Everyday it seems like USA Congress or State Government is bringing a bill that violates our constitution.  Some say that the only way we will get our rights back is by the gun.  I don't know if I disagree with them or not.  I am mixed on this issue  I do not believe in force or fraud to get my political way. BUT I think the Tyrant government is doing nothing but force on all of our rights.  NDAA is a good example of that force. How much assault on our liberty before we defend them? Hear is a quote from Jefferson on defending liberty.

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure"

Is Jefferson right?  Is it time to take up arms and resist?  I think it is almost that time!  What do you think?

The passage begins “I say nothing of its motives. They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness."

The notorious "tree of liberty" Jefferson passage is part of his response to the Shay's Rebellion incident.  His point was that dumb people sometimes die for good but misguided intentions, not that we need violence to insure good government.

“Liberty may be endangered by the abuses of liberty as well as the abuses of power.”  - - James Madison

I think these unconstitutional laws are both wicked, and ignorance with the ones who make the laws.   I think some of our law makers want to control the American people, and some are so damn ignorant that wouldn't know the constitution if it hit them in the face. I think most of our law makers know what they are doing, and they don't care about the constitution or the american people.  All they care about is power and money. The system is more wicked than ignorant. For example, look at what is required to get in the presidential debate.  It is to be on the ballot in enough states to have a chance to win, and 15% in 5 or more polls.  They only put Gary Johnson in 3 polls so he will not have a chance to debate.

NDAA is the draw line for me. I am scared at the power that one person get to decide who is a terrorist, and who is not, and that person does not get his day in court or an attorney.  How would you feel if the Libertarian Party got some power, and all the sudden the president says we are terrorist and off to the concentration camps we go. I would like to know Erik, if the military raided your house would you tried to protect yourself and your family with arms?   I would in a hart beat!  Please do not say that will not happen cause the government already has a watch list of anti government activist, and we libertarians are on it!  The government is making a hard for us to get our rights back peacefully, so  thank God for the 2nd Amendment!

This sort of thing is not new.  Alien and Sedition Acts during John Adams' presidency.  Slavery of black people until the mid-1800s.  Warrantless imprisonment of American citizens of Japanese heritage in the 1940s.  The Patriot Act.

And yet the nation endures.

Anyone who flaps around with end-is-near calls to violence or other GlennBeckish hyperbole will be rightfully dismissed by me and all clear-thinking voters.  And it makes the LP look bad.  Focus on getting Libertarians elected instead of sharpening pitchforks and oiling down torches.

I personally do not trust most so-called "liberty candidates" because that usually means Republicans who say Libertarian things to get votes, but I respect your decision-making power.   I'm happy to report that nobody has tried to come for my guns.  Rock on, my friend.

Erik I don't like the Nazi Republican party but that would not stop me from voting for a Republican candidate that shows he or she will honor the constitution.  Last year carbon county had  3 liberty candidates after the primary  running for office 1 as a Democrat Gerald Strubinger  for Jim Thorpe school board, 1 as a Republican Steve Armbruster for Sheriff, and myself for township supervisor.  Steve, Gerry, and I campaigned hard for liberty and freedom.  I was proud to endorse them both, and have no problem calling them  fellow Patriots.  Too bad Steve and I lost. Steve kind of got screwed by his party for endorsing me as the Libertarian candidate in my race.  The Democrats are not happy about Gerry endorsing Steve.  The point to this post is it is going to take ALL parties to get freedom and liberty back in this country.  I don't care what party, as long as the candidate stands for the constitution and freedom, they will get my vote!
There are some so called Libertarians that I would not vote for Bob Barr for one.
