Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania elects officers
Wilkes-Barre, PA- - The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania in convention Sunday, April 22 elected state officers for the next year. Tom Stevens, chair of the Libertarian Party of Northampton County, was elected state chair of the LPPA. Also elected were Betsy Summers as Eastern Vice-chair, Jim Fryman as Western Vice-chair, and Erik Viker as Secretary. Patti Fryman was re-elected as Treasurer. “I look forward to working with the other elected officers, the members of the Board of Directors, and all party members willing to put in a little time to help make the LPPA a more effective and influential political party,” said Stevens. “I am confident we can attract many new members and help them develop their leadership potential as they work to advance the cause of liberty.”
The state convention featured workshops, speeches and visits from distinguished guests including former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party candidate for President. The keynote speaker was Rupert Boneham, former star of the television program “Survivor” and LP candidate for governor of Indiana. Members of the LPPA made plans to participate in the national Libertarian Party presidential nominating convention in Las Vegas May 2 – 6.
