I know that this is the broad Libertarian Party of PA. But, I thought I'd throw an announcement out here that I am in the process of starting an Outright Libertarian chapter here in the Harrisburg-Carlisle Metro. The LGBT Community historically votes Liberal Democrat and it's my hope to steal a majority of those votes and that support away and give it to Libertarian Candidates and causes.

Let anyone you think would be interested know. I will post more information as I get it up and running.

It will service Cumberland County, Dauphin County, Perry County, and possibly Northern York County (I'd prefer if someone opened up a York chapter since York is kinda big.) But, we'll see what happens.

Sounds great! I was hoping I could find people who wanted to join up! I'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop as per what's going on. I don't, yet, have the chapter charter (as I am in the very beginning stages.) But, it is just a matter of waiting for the execs to get it put through. So, that's giving me time to get some things organized.

Marakay Rogers is in York, and I believe she is still on the national Outright Libertarians committee.

Thanks for the info! I have made contact with her and am waiting to hear back about a provisional charter.

Hey guys. I don't, yet, have any additional info about the provisional chapter status. But, I do have some organizing news on my end.

  • I have commissioned an illustrator over at http://www.lampoonthesystem.com/About.html and a political cartoon is currently under development for use with the group.
  • I have created a group logo
  • I have a working agenda
  • I have crafted by-laws

I have yet to secure a meeting place for the group. I want the group to be official before I call around asking businesses for meeting space.

Still interested? Be sure to join-up on the regional "mailing-list" here (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/outrightma/)
