MEETING MINUTES - JMC
July 20, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7:11 by Chairman Tim Crowley.  There were five board members present, which soon increased to six.

Rich Loether reviewed our problem with our telephone number.  We were notified on May 18 that our existing phone number would no longer be usable after June 1, for reasons ?beyond control.?  There would be no message to forward callers to a new number.  No further developments have occurred since then.  Henry Haller moved to authorize Rich Loether to investigate and secure a new phone system at a cost not to exceed $250 per year.  Dave Powell seconded, and the motion passed without objection.

Treasurer Rich Loether then gave the treasurer?s report.  We currently have a bank balance of $1106.16, with no outstanding obligations.

Tim Crowley reported on the recent LPPa board meeting.  He concluded that the state party is somewhat rejuvenated, but that ballot access for 2006 is a serious concern.

Dave Powell reported that the ?letters to the editor? campaign is working well.  He also informed us that threeriverspost.com is up and running.

There was considerable discussion about upcoming strategy, and in particular the possibility of an issue-based campaign.  It was agreed that new literature is badly needed.  These topics will be taken up by e-mail.  It was also agreed that we would support Mark Rauterkus? fall campaign, assuming he is successful in getting on the ballot.

Rich Loether moved to adjourn at 8:37, which passed without objection.
