Very interesting, I'll have to keep my eye on this. Missing talk radio shows is one thing that really sucks about being in Iraq, I'm forced to get my Savage Nation clips from Media Matters, of all places! Shocked

The Armed Forces Network doesn't play Glenn Beck (even though many of us wrote asking them to carry the show) but somehow they run Keith Olbermann every day. Roll Eyes

I suppose interesting is the word for it. I am still not sure where I stand on Mr. Savage. I don't listen to him much because he gets stuck on tangents about his local problems that are irrelevant to me. He is a bit over the top for me.

marinejcksn - i podcast most of my show and have so much FREE stuff that i download i am always a week behind in the listening.   MP3 players are dirt cheap these days, I have three now, about $15 each.  http://freetalklive.com/ is one that i am stuck on, and they are a small start up, but really getting traction for liberty.

John - he has a lot of libertarian tendencies, but some that are not.   very large listening audience, and if anything it would really shake things up if this gains any feet.   i will be watching.  Savage said this is his life commitment now.  We'll see.

P.S.  Barr is up to 3% in VA.  That is incredible for that state.  I feel we are on the right track.  If he gets 1 million votes or say > 3% nationally, i think that is huge success.  what say you?

I hope this doesn't go anywhere.  The last thing we need is yet another split of the Liberty vote.  And especially one focused on a single personality, like Ross Perot's Reform Party.  If this "Savage Party" does gain any momentum, it will be short-lived, and while it does, it will further erode any chance for the Libertarian Party (which in spite of it's recent lack of purity in the eyes of some, is still the flagship party for Liberty) to gain a large enough vote to force the MSM and the Sheeple to stop ignoring us.

...And, I really liking the "new" Glenn Beck.   4 years ago, i thought he was subpar.  Now, i think he is with us.  Beck '12 for LP Prez.

Good point, though I am not thinking that Savage followers are libertarians though.  Not even small l.  He is adamant about keeping the war on drugs in place, even expanding.   (i read his book)   I see him and his listeners as far, far to the right.  Yes, they would take many more votes from the Republicans....which i think are doomed anyhow.   He is entertaining, and a great speaker.

I don't care for Mr. Savage myself -- he seems far more like a Constitution Party member to me. 

I am in favor of as many third parties as there are people to join them but it sometimes seems to me that new parties are reinventing the wheel of other parties that already exist.  I'm not sure Mr. Savage isn't more or less inherently a CP member.
