Mark Your calendar for Wednesday, October 8, 2008 for Bob Barr's visit to Harrisburg. Details are still being worked out, but Bob will be doing and hour-long interview and answering call-in questions on PCN starting at 3:00.

There will be a Meet and Greet reception at the Harrisburg Hilton from 5:00 to 7:00pm  with a news conference at 5:30. Bring your signs and be sure to attend this event!

More news as things are finalized, but don't miss this opportunity to visit with Bob Barr before the election!!

NEW - 12pm, Wednesday - confirmed at Penn State Harrisburg - Morrison Gallery, located in the Library.

Then a reception will be at Market Square Cafe, first floor of the Hilton Harrisburg. 5pm

Matt Brouillette of the Commonwealth Foundation will introduce Mr. Barr.

If anyone asks, this is a FREE event.  We will be trying to recoup some funds at the door though.

The hearing on the Stabile appeal is scheduled for Monday. Some counties have been holding back getting ballots ready until they hear the outcome of this appeal. If this were an appeal to get Barr on the ballot I suspect all ballots would be set already.

I was trying to get a meeting set up for Barr's visit next Wednesday with the candidate and the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce. When I talked to the president, David Black, today he said they would make no effort to coordinate a meeting with Barr and he personally did not like the fact that Barr was on the ballot "pulling votes from the right". I think he is a friend of Vic Stabile.

I have yet to hear back from the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce. The network TV affiliates have been cool to doing anything with Barr, although one did say they would consider doing an interview. I also have not gotten any calls returned yet from Art Selby, producer of the Bob Durgin radio show. Temple U. cannot do an event on the 8th as they are swamped getting ready for the third party forum on the 9th.

Anyhow, the full hour on PCN is set, and the reception from 5-7pm at the Harrisburg Hilton should be good. Betsy Summers will be in town for the news conference at 5:30. We need some ideas for events in the early afternoon (before 2:30pm) on Wednesday the 8th.

I hate to put this out there, but I must.

Should we see if Bob Barr can come back to Harrisburg / Scranton?  I am sure that they have an open date.   They still can hit Scranton and maybe York area too.
