I talk to my parents every Sunday night (they still live in CA; I moved to PA in '95 on my own), and we briefly discussed politics last week (Aug 30).  There was no doubt that my parents (who have been registered R's for my entire life) were not going to vote for Obama, so I figured they were going to go for McCain.

Much to my surprise, when I mentioned I was planning to vote for Bob Barr, my dad said, "So I am."  I think there was about 30 seconds of silence on my end from being so surprised.  My dad went on to say that he liked Barr when he was in Congress, and my Mom is also planning to vote for Barr.

And then yesterday, my mom told me that when she was talking to her mom this past Saturday, they were discussing politics and my parents said they were voting for Barr.  To which my grandmother said, "Who?", and my dad proceeded to tell them a little about Barr.

It sounds like there's at least 3 more votes in CA for Barr now.  It may be a slow process, but the word is definitely spreading!!
