Here is a stunningly accurate assessment of the Republican Party from the Daily Kos (it is unusual for articles posted there to be right):

Given this and the fact that what's left of the Communist Party USA (although they do seem to have a nice, new office) now simply promotes the Democratic Party and Democratic Party candidates, it should be clear that a choice between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party is a choice between socialists and Socialists.

These are among the many reasons why I have vowed never to vote Republican ever again -- And what I mean by that is to vote Republican because 'Republican' means small government, free markets, etc. I will vote for people like Ron Paul or Jim Bunning, because of who they are and their track record.
