As of October 17, 2008, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, Middle District, has affirmed the ruling of Commonwealth Court regarding the substitution certificate of Bob Barr.

Not only will Barr remain on the Pennsylvania ballot, the practice of having a stand-in candidate on nomination papers was confirmed to further the legitimate interest of the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania.

I can attest to this, at least in Lancaster County. When they mailed my absentee ballot Barr was listed as a possible choice along with Nader, Obama & McCain. Grin

Those four candidates qualified for the ballot. The suit would have had Barr removed (albeit too late for most county ballots).
