2010 US Senate Race in PA

This from Politics1 (
http://www.politics1.com/
):
PENNSYLVANIA - 2010. Lots of undecideds to fight over if the new PPP-D poll is any indication. US Senator Arlen Specter (R) leads TV talk show host Chris Matthews (D) by a vote of 40% to 27%. Keystone State political insiders tell Politics1 that they now believe Matthews is likely to run.

I'm sort of concerned Comrade Rendell is going to make a bid (which will likely be successful) for this seat as soon as Specter retires/dies, which could conceivably be as soon as 2010.
Do we have any concrete plans to run a candidate in this election?

Rendell has an awesome political machine in the Commonwealth. He is better as its driver than as the candidate being carried. So it is possible he would run, but I suspect he will be behind the scenes in a campaign if he does not get a cushy federal department head slot (e.g Homeland Security) before then.

That would be disgusting.

I have not heard of anyone who plans to seek the Libertarian Party nomination for the US Senate race, however that may change after the LPPA board meeting tomorrow.
I have heard calls for Marakay Rogers to run for governor in 2010, maybe on a ticket with Betsy Summers?
It would be a good idea for candidates to seriously think about these races now because fundraising will have to start a year and a half in advance, if not sooner. Ballot access will be a KILLER unless something changes.
