In the early days, before flight was successfully achieved, it was reported that you would see engineers and lay persons taking their flying machines to the tops of mountainous cliffs and pushing off. You would see their faces light up in joy as their machine plunged into a free-fall, thinking that they were flying. In much the same way, the American people have thought that they were flying, too. The ground has started to creep up closer and closer, and now people are starting to get the feeling that this flight is really just a long plunge toward the ground. The Libertarian Party could be our parachute to safety, but it has a lot of holes in it.
