He had a 5 minute segment on Thursday night as well.  Can't wait to see the 'full hour' on Friday.
I'm a huge Beck fan.

At the moment I think Glenn is going to spend a lot of time on Mexico boarder security. I know Ron Paul did not handle those questions well on Beck's show. I am curious to see how Bob Barr handles it.

Energy production is easy in my opinion for a Libertarian to knock out of the park. Many things can be done by executive order, that congress would have to undo to oppose him.

I caught him on Colbert Report which is nothing but name recognition. I do wish that more media outlets would mention Barr when they say Obama and Mc Cain.

My fiance and I watched BB on Colbert last night (taped). I was a bit worried because not everybody looks real smart on the show if they don't get his humor but I think he did pretty good.  I'm trying to get my Hillary supporter fiance to support Barr.  So far she likes him.  Tonight on Beck will hopefully help too.  I probably won't see it until tomorrow though, she's going out and I'm watching the Phils.   Grin

I watched the whole thing and think that Bob did alright. He was less awkward than Ron Paul when he was on Glen Beck. I know some of you will not like his Right to Life stance and others will. I would like to hear what some of you may have found disappointing. I think Bob is very conscience about shedding the "Libertarians are nuts" image that the media paints the party with. If enough people get a chance to see him and hear him I think his campaign will have an impact.

The interview is on his website: http://www.bobbarr2008.com/media-center/play/93

Like other libertarians, I was a bit skeptical of Barr and his voting record, but I think he's really pulling through and probably would appeal to more libertarian leaning Republicans. (do Republicans really want Bush 3.0?) If Ron Paul ends up dropping out, then my vote will definitely go to Barr.

Just finished watching it.  Barr did a good job.  I meant Beck in person last year and he told me, "I'm a libertarian at heart too."  I have listened to Beck for about 8 years now and he is coming our way for sure.  I listen to him every day now.

I've been hearing rumors that a lot of people -- Republicans -- are threatening to vote Libertarian this year. We might not win, but we could seriously cripple the Republican Party, and they'd either have to start paying attention to us or be permanently crippled.

Well the Republicans have several options:

Those who love Mc Cain will vote for Mc Cain and people like Mc Cain.

The party faithful will set aside principal and vote for Mc Cain and HOPE for better candidates in the future (which have been lacking since 1994.)

Those who despise what they see Mc Cain representing have three options:

Vote for Obama to teach the Republicans a lesson! The lesson though that the Republicans will learn is that they need an even further left minority on the ticket

Stay home and not vote. If either Obama or Mc Cain wins the Republicans learn nothing that conservatives want them to learn.

Vote for Barr, even if he does not win it would send a message to the Republicans of what kind of candidate they want.

The Republican answer will be "fear of Obama". I think we're screwed with Mc Cain or Obama so the fear mongering won't work anymore. All we need is enough Democrats scared of Obama who won't vote republican to vote Libertarian and we just might win.

I saw the GB show and all I saw was a wolf in sheeps clothing.  His views on the environment and other issues are just straight up Republican through and through.  At this point my vote goes to Nader !

Brett, I believe you are on the wrong forum.  Barr and Nadar are polar opposites.  Have you taken the Nolan Chart?

I just watched the GB appearance on YouTube and I think he aced it. I am pretty excited about the campaign this year. I can't wait to get started. Only seven more twelve-hour night shifts left until I go to a regular eight-hour second shift!

Well, I was at the convention and let me tell you....I pray he does us well.   If not, we (I) am going to have egg on my face for years to come.  Many of us really went on a limb for Barr.

I am sure he waited so long to jump in because Barr was not sure (for sure) if Ron Paul was not going to run as a LP.  If Ron Paul came to the convention, I would have bet he would have won hands down.  He got several votes and was not even running.  I hope someday you all get experience a national convention.  It will make you more motivated about our position on liberty than anything else.  If you have been to a Ron Paul rally, it is like that on steroids and for 3 days straight.

I too am excited (cautiously) about where this is heading.

Keep in mind, that if Barr does tip it to Obama, if will be decades before the LP is forgiven in ppl's mind.  They still talk about Perot, and i was on the Perot band wagon.  Like Glenn Beck has seen the light, it will take some heavy hitters to join our ranks to gain respect and know we are doing the right thing long term.

Why will they forgive Mc Cain if he tilts things in favor of Obama Smiley? Maybe he will be able to do Viagra commercials.

You have doubts about liberty and freedom being the right thing? All you are doing is having an election, The folks who signed the declaration of Independence, they had reason to contemplate whether they did the right thing. The question to ask yourself is if you did nothing would you respect yourself?

The contest is not between Obama and Mc Cain when it comes to Liberty and Freedom. Both of them define those words very differently from a Libertarian. Do you really care if Sean Hannity hates us and throws a tantrum? Rush Limbaugh is playing the "I'm above it all." position. He may be tippable. He needs to be convinced that voting for Barr is the only way the Republican party will return to Conservatism.

Peace and Love,
Samantha
