Just got "mine." Well... I guess what would be my sample one since it came with the prompting to be a member, which I figure I'm going to do now.

Thanks Patricoo, great leadway.   We had 6 new members (that i am aware of) via the complimentary issue of the LibPENN.  For the next issue, we are soliciting Letters to the LibPENN, Maximum 100 words.   Please forward them to dauphin@lppa.org.  A letters are subject to editing for grammar and taste.

Also, if you are interested in writing an article, please email me as well your topic and name.  You can choose the deadline too.

The next issue is going to be excellent!!!  We hope to have it completed by the end of the year.

The folks haven't mailed me my copy that you sent to them yet. Then again, they haven't mailed me anything in the last few weeks.  Cry

And the wife's even worse! Never mails me anything out here.  Angry

Maybe the newsletter could be put into a PDF format and emailed? This would be good for not only the folks we have serving overseas but would be a nice way to save some money on postage for those that would prefer a digital copy? I guess you could even consider it a "green" initiative. But then if someone wanted to be emailed information about the party you could always add a digital copy of the newsletter.

That's a great idea! I'd definitely be able to send it around to my fellow Marines too.

Attached is the pdf.  No problem sending it out to whomever you all with.  I believe our by-laws state the newsletter is the official communication tool of the LPPA as some members do not have internet access and all have snail mail.

Two things -

If you want your January or February 2009 LPPA County meeting dates, location and time in the next issue of LibPENN, please email me at weneedjohngalt9@yahoo.com AND post it here:

http://www.lppa.org/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,60/board,41.0/

ALSO, I am soliciting Letters to the LibPENN.  Less than 100 words please, and it's subject to some editing for grammar and publishing purposes.   Again, sent it to weneedjohngalt9@yahoo.com

Thanks

Great to hear another LibPenn is fast approaching. I printed out and passed around the recent one, great reading! I'm submitting a short letter on Education, it'll be interesting to see if my previous writing makes it into this new issue. Joy!  Grin

Here's my letter: (Slightly over 100 words)

Education

Our country is at the precipice of economic turmoil. Americans are bewildered at the actions of Congress, as bailout after bailout is signed off and more floundering businesses gather in line to feed at the taxpayer’s trough. It’s easy to feel dismayed by the way so many in Washington seem to thumb their noses at us by burdening our children with gluttonous debt and bloated Government. How can we reverse course and turn the tide back to Fiscal solvency and our Founding Fathers intention of limited Government?  As Ronald Reagan once said, “Well, it's a simple answer after all.” Education is the key. How many of our children aren’t being taught about the Constitution & the origins of this nation? Take the time this holiday season and spend it with your children. Tell them about their history. Get them involved and interested. The intellectual legacy we pass on to our future generations is our greatest key to handing them their continued freedom and Liberty, which is the greatest gift we can give.

If you want to save some money on the printing/postage you can give the newsletter to me in this format every month. If someone wants to take a look at it I can always print off a copy or email it to them.

There is a effort to make the LibPENN an option to be received via email for those who prefer it that way.  (including me)

Right now, to ensure every LPPA member receives the LibPENN, it will be made available both ways.
