I am a resident of Schuylkill County and former LPPa member who registered as Republican for the opportunity to vote for Dr. Ron Paul. After Super Tuesday, when it becomes official that Senator John McCain will be the Republican nominee for President, I plan to leave the Republican Party and rejoin the Libertarian Party. I am very interested in meeting other Libertarian Party members in the area and discussing options for strengthening Libertarian presence in the country.

John,

I'm the current Eastern Vice Chair for the party.  If there is one thing that I hope comes from the Ron Paul Presidential race, it is the uniting of many folks who share our views.  Let me know when you are ready to go to work. I would welcome the opportunity to work with you to bring folks from your region together.

Well, as soon as I can get in touch with the designated contact for Schuylkill County, I am going to jump in there and see what can be done. If I can't get a hold of the contact, then I will try to get a hold of someone else higher up and get myself designated as the contact, if there is no one else. I know a lot of people around here who are libertarians and who would get involved if they would only just get that extra nudge to get them motivated.

Have you heard from Wanda yet?  I know she could use some help breathing life into Schuylkill County.  Let me know how you make out and if I can be of help.

Thanks,

David Jahn

That is great.  Are you planning on coming to the annual state convention March 15/16th?

Nah, I work an EOWEO schedule and that is my weekend to work, so I won't be able to attend.

Those EOWEO schedules usually come with long hours as well.

Maybe you could make a board meeting sometime.  Although they are long and painful.

Or, maybe we could put together an event in Schuylkill County that would draw some folks out.

I am working on several ideas for Schuylkill County, at the moment. I am going to have a meeting with Wanda Keefer at some point in the near future and discuss those ideas and see if we can make things happen for our area.

At this point, I've been working my regular schedule and then attending 'Extruder A' School for another ten hours per week, so things have been progressing slowly with regard to the development of some of my ideas, but things will pick up again next weekend when the class ends.

I will most definitely keep in touch with you so that you are up to date.

Well, I've done what I set out to do. My vote for Dr. Ron Paul was cast and I no longer have any reason to remain with the Republican Party. The next day that I have off, I will head down to the county election office and change my registration and then I will register with the LPPa online.
