Let's start some Libertarian County Chapters in your area!
(please forward this to anyone who may be interested)

Dear Libertarian Activist,

I am looking for ways to build the LPPa's grassroots network across the
state. Recently the LPPa changed its bylaws to allow smaller county chapters
to join together with adjoining counties to form 'regions' with a vote on
the LPPa board.

We designated every county in the state as A, B, and C counties. The goal is
to turn B counties into A's and to turn C's into B's.  Currently we have a
handful of A counties and a handful of B counties.  Unfortunately, most
counties are unorganized 'C' counties right now.

We now have accurate lists of LPPa members in each Pa. county.  This makes
it much easier to get them to start a recognized county chapter by signing
the  County Chapter Documentation Kit.  It only take two LPPa members from
each county to start a small LPPa county chapter. Then they can band
together with adjoining county chapters to form a Regional Committee with a
vote on the LPPa board.

It occurred to me that you might be in a unique position to help form some
county chapters in your area.   Perhaps you would consider becoming a
"County Support Specialist'?  This is a newly-created appointed position
where you would try to get LPPa members to form county chapters in your neck
of the woods. You would also try to get these new county chapters to grow
and to form regional committees with a vote on the LPPa board.

When our candidates run for office again, it would help them tremendously if
we had several  "B" counties organized in your area.  They could address
local issues as well as set up events, fundraisers, media appearances and so
on for our candidates.

Many counties have been organized in the past and could certainly be
reorganized.  All it would take is a catalyst -- someone to call or email
local LPPa members and to pass around the LPPa County Chapter Documentation
Kit (which is just a glorified signup sheet available for download on
www.lppa.org).

Even if you set up the smallest possible county organization, what we now
call a B-2 county chapter, (with the minimum of 2 LPPa members who signed
the documentation signup sheet), this would be a help.

Your county touches upon other counties that could also be organized.  If
the total number of LPPa members who sign the documentation kits exceeds 12,
then adjacent B counties  can get a joint representative on the LPPa board.
Your region will have greater representation on the board than it does now.

This party needs to develop in the northern, central and western parts of
the state.

We would like to form B county chapters in as many counties as possible,
grow the chapters and help them join up with adjoining county chapters to
form a Region with a vote on the LPPa board.

I cannot make this happen from my home near Pgh.  Would you consider
becoming a county support specialist and try to organize the state?  This
would benefit the LPPa and its future campaigns.

Let me know what you think.  If you want to call me, my number is
412-795-7243.

Can I get a board set up for Erie county? I've been busting my ass on the Ron Paul campaign for the last year and have some good prospects. I just need some tools to work with.

Thanks,

Good to hear from you.  I created the Erie board.  Let me know if you need more.

What is the status of Schuylkill County? I am finally going to a regular shift schedule instead of my erratic EOWEO schedule, so I will have weekends and days off. I am very much hoping to contribute a lot more time to political activism.

John,

There are libs in the area who have tried organizing before.  All they need is some help pulling it together.  We can get you a list of names and contact information.  I also noticed a new Schuylkill County area in the county section of the forum.  It would be great to see some activity there.

Let me know if I can be of help.

If you could send that list of names and contact information, that would be great.
