U.S. Army Unit to Deploy in October for Domestic Operations Beginning in October, the Army plans to station a permanent, active unit inside the United States for the first time to serve as an on-call federal response in times of emergency. The 3rd Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent thirty-five of the last sixty months in Iraq, but now the unit is training for domestic operations. The unit will soon be under the day-to-day control of US Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command.

The Army Times reports this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to Northern Command. The paper says the Army unit may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control. The soldiers are learning to use so-called nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals and crowds.

Yes, when the house of cards that is our debt-driven economy finally falls, (the recent bailouts will only serve to prolong the agony), and there is no food in our grocery stores because our worthless currency can't buy diesel for the trucks, they will be ready to put down the riots that will ensue.

I thought I would Google some of the key words, and I do NOT like what I've found...  These are articles on the web, so use your best judgement to determine how much is the truth and how much is written by people with aluminum foil hats.

All I can think of is The Siege. Only difference being that there won't be a Denzel Washington type out there actually fighting for justice.

We are on the brink, here. The government should always fear the people, especially when they are violating the Constitution and their obligations as public servants. However, in this case, it seems as though they are willing to use force to assure our compliance with and consent to their corruptions. Our Republic has one foot in the grave, ladies and gentlemen. One foot in the grave.
