Title: Help Identify PA Radio Stations Post by: mark.d.crowley on August 10, 2008, 12:04:02 pm I need a little help and maybe this forum can provide it. Don't worry, it's easy and takes just a few minutes.
The PA coordinator for the Barr/Root campaign asked me about radio stations in Pennsylvania. Specifically, he asked what five to ten stations would be the best for him to concentrate his efforts to get Bob Barr, Wayne Root or a spokesperson scheduled for an interview. "Best" can mean a lot of things to different people. Let's narrow it down so these key characteristics are most important: ** Past receptiveness to libertarians, third party or independent candidates (for example, Bob Dugin's show in Harrisburg). ** Station format (news talk being better than, for example, 100% heavy metal). ** Size of listening audience (bigger is better). If you have some suggestions for radio stations, and specific shows/hosts on those stations, please post them here. Help to identify the most promising candidates by noting things like: the radio station call letters (KDKA, WPGH, etc.), the city where the station broadcasts (Pittsburgh, Philly, etc.) and the name of a host/show and its hours (Dugin, Quinn & Rose from 6AM to 9AM, etc.). Who knows, but if some of these stations would be receptive to interviewing Barr/Root, maybe they would also be receptive to some of our state and local candidates. This "foot in the door" could be a benefit where having a prominent name like Barr could help us locally. Thanks in advance. http://www.waeb.com/cc-common/mainheadlines2.html?feed=121401&article=362804 Here's the list of PA stations that Rush Limbaugh is on. It's a farily decent bet that any radio station that runs his show would have an audience receptive to a message of TRULY smaller government, etc. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/menu/rush.guest.pa.html Title: Re: Help Identify PA Radio Stations Post by: bergie72 on August 11, 2008, 11:05:30 pm In the northeast we have WILK at 910 Scranton, 980 Wilkes Barre and 1310 Hazleton, plus 103.1 FM. Former columnist at the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader. Major Hilary supporter Then it goes back to national shows.. Savage at 7pm, O'Reilly at 10pm, Coast to Coast at midnight, and Jim Bohannon at 5am. Dial in is 883-0098 or (800) 437-0098. Title: Re: Help Identify PA Radio Stations Post by: mark.d.crowley on August 12, 2008, 06:36:57 pm Here are a few talk radio stations in Pittsburgh:
** FM News Talk 104.7 www.wpgb.com Quinn & Rose 6AM to 9AM (www.warroom.com) Barr was often a guest on Quinn&Rose before they switched to FM 104.7, he was a favorite of theirs during the Clinton impeachment. ** KDKA Radio 1020 AM www.kdkaradio.com 412-575-2200 radionews@kdka.com Fred Honsberger 3PM to 5PM http://imgsrv.kdkaradio.com/image/kdka/UserFiles/WeekdayProgramSchedule6-19-08.pdf I think Fred Honsberger is recovering from surgery. I'm not sure, but I think the substitute host is Kevin Miller. ** AM News Talk 1360 www.1360wptt.com 412-875-9500 Title: Re: Help Identify PA Radio Stations Post by: FreeRad on September 25, 2008, 04:55:32 pm The best station I can think of is Actually in NJ.
